Turbo Jam! March 11, 2011

life update
Haven’t been on here in awhile… my little brother left for boot camp and my niece left back for Arizona all this week. Let me say not an easy week for everyone! ūüė¶

TURBO!
On the brighter side I got TurboJam. I emailed a blog I follow, Dashing Dish, about DVDs she does since I do not have a gym at my house or want to spend on a memebership right now. She recommended TurboJam and just so happened one of my friends had just started doing it also and loved it. So I tried it, I love it! I have sore muscles that I didnt even know existed! I have done it 3 times this week so far and plan on doing this afternoon before youth week at church starts! It definitly challenges me but in a different way, the moves are easy to get but the pace and the repitition wears me out! I used a calculator and burn about 500 calories doing it in 45 min which is the typical length of the ones I have.
my goal…to alternate with the routines that came with the 2 DVDs I got for 2 weeks and then I can get a new one on Amazon for a little reward:)

planning
I have been slacking on paying attention to what goes into my mouth then last night, while my workout was kicking my but,t I realized I should really pay attention. I am just working off The junk I ate when I could be eating healthy and seeing my exercise pay off quicker and in a better way. So I found¬† a notebook and am going to plan what I eat each Saturday or Sunday for the week ahead and stick to it! This will also save me money–great bonus!!

Dave Ramsey..Financial Peace
We paid off the husbands car!!!! The check was mailed Saturday:)
praise break…!!!

The start of another day=) I am not as sore as I thought I would be! So tonight I am going to do the other Billy Blanks DVD I also rented. I am excited, I really like his DVDs lately and I like variety in my workouts.

It is above freezing! It has been a long time since it’s been this warm, heat wave!

My goal this week is to eat more fruits and vegetables!

Food log:

  • Cinnamon Cheerios and 2%milk: 170
  • O’Charley’s Potato soup and 2 rolls: 728
–potato soup was good and 404calories, I should have only had 1 roll but I caved and had 2! Not going to beat myself up=) just gonna get back on track and have an amazing workout later!
  • Banana:
  • Pork chop, rice, cauliflower, broccoli, half corn on the cob: 498
  • cup of frozen vanilla yogurt: 200

_______________
day’s total:1596
goal total: 1400-1425
exercise РTaeBo (moderate) 48min: 620

Although I went over my calorie goal, I did a long and hard workout tonight adding up to a day’s worth of cutting/burning 500 calories. I had a splurge day during the week, not wanting to make it a habit but I am not going to beat myself up about it!

Billy Blanks Reviews

BILLY BLANKS!
In my post early I mentioned I was so excited to try this! I got through 37 minutes of it (52 minute workout), would love to say I finished it but I didn’t. This was so hard for me but felt so good pushing myself to a limit I didn’t think I could do! This is definitely going on my wish list and a goal list to be able to finish and keep up with Billy.

I would recommend this to anyone but it is hard, so be prepared! It just consists of basic, fast paced TaeBo moves.

This is another one I LOVE! He does a very good job explaining and demonstrating each move, this helped be able to keep up and do the move when he sped it all up.
It is about 45 minutes and goes by fast!

Definitly one I will be keep doing!

I just tried this one 2-11-11. I had a difficult keeping up, he did not demonstrate the moves enough and then would combine them all at a fast pace.
It was about the same length as the others, 45 min but this one did not go by fast or enjoyable for me, I found myself becoming frustrated not being able to keep up with it and the confusion I had.

I will keep posting reviews as I try them=)….

2011 goals January 18, 2011

Filed under: Goals — mrstutt @ 8:43 pm

The overall goal for 2011 is to change from the inside out. I want to get a handle on prioritizing, why I do certain things, and a handle on my self-image and self-esteem. So here is the overall list=) :

  • prioritize my time ex: prayer, family, piano lessons, house cleaning/organizing, fitness-excerise, tv/free time…etc
  • handle stress positively and in timely manner
  • getting finances down-saving, debts in order, seriously¬†try clipping with Carrie!
  • planning ahead-cleaning, meals, bills, plans
  • learn to cook well, healthy and balanced
  • finding excercise¬†I enjoy and would love to do each day-no dreading or doing something I absolutely hate!
  • spend my time more wisely =) not being lazy!
